Shocking News: Actor Adam Rowland officially announces wedding date with co-star

For Home and Away stars Juliet Godwin and Adam Rowland, the end-of-year holiday season is often a precious chance to reconnect with loved ones and recharge after an intense filming schedule. While many fans eagerly anticipate what’s in store for their characters Bree and Remi in the upcoming year, the actors themselves are embracing the opportunity to slow down and soak up some well-earned rest.

“I grew up in Albury-Wodonga, right on the NSW-Victoria border,” says Adam, 30, sharing a glimpse into his holiday rituals with TV WEEK. “The whole family comes together and Mum always puts on this massive lunch. We eat way too much, then lie around the lounge in a bit of a food coma,” he laughs. “Boxing Day is a bit of a sacred tradition too – I catch up with my old school mates and we get a backyard cricket match going. It’s always a good laugh.”

For Juliet, the holidays traditionally mean a trip back to Perth, where her roots and extended family remain. “That’s usually what I do,” she says. “But this year is different. I’ll be staying in Sydney instead, which is a bit of a change of pace – but I’ve got family coming over to visit, and I think it’s going to be really fun. There’s something exciting about hosting Christmas in your own city.”

Having spent the last few years settling into Sydney life as part of the long-running Home and Away family, both Juliet and Adam have slowly begun crafting new holiday traditions in their adopted city.

“Having fried eggs with ham on Christmas morning is something we’ve always done – it’s a quirky little tradition passed down from my Grandpa Godwin,” Juliet explains with a smile. “I’ll definitely miss that this year, but we’re creating some new customs. We’re all going out for lunch on Christmas Day, and then on Boxing Day, we’ll head to a local fishmonger and pick out some fresh seafood. It’s something a bit different – and honestly, it’s starting to grow on me.”

Juliet and Adam recently took part in the TV WEEK and Home and Away Christmas shoot, where they exchanged gifts on set and shared plenty of laughs between takes. “We’re lucky to work with such a close-knit crew,” Adam says. “It really does feel like a little family.”

And while Christmas is a time of celebration, the pair are also looking forward to closing out what has been a whirlwind year – both on and off screen. Their characters Bree and Remi have been through the wringer in 2024, with powerful storylines that have pushed the actors to explore emotional depths.

“It’s been a huge year,” Juliet admits. “Bree went through a really intense OCD storyline that was both challenging and rewarding to portray. It meant doing a lot of research and trying to approach it with the care and nuance it deserves.”

For Adam, Remi’s storyline brought high stakes and high drama. “Remi had that massive motorbike crash, which was such a heavy moment in the arc of the show. Playing those scenes and exploring how trauma affects people physically and emotionally – that’s the kind of stuff that really stretches you as an actor.”

Their on-again, off-again relationship on screen has also been a major point of interest for fans. “It’s one of those love stories that keeps evolving,” Adam reflects. “There are moments of tenderness, but also miscommunication, tension – it’s a real relationship, which I think people connect with.”

Looking ahead to 2025, both stars hint at even bigger developments in Summer Bay.

“I’ve really found my rhythm on the show,” Juliet shares. “I feel more grounded now as an actor, and more confident in what I bring to Bree. 2025 is going to be wild – there’s a major medical emergency that throws her into chaos, and we’ve got some amazing new cast members joining us too. It’s going to shake things up in the best way.”

Adam is equally excited for the future, but first, he’s got a personal goal to tick off his list: “I’ve never seen the New Year’s Eve fireworks in Sydney,” he says. “Can you believe that? I’ve lived here for a while now, but it’s always been one of those things I just haven’t done yet. I think I’ll finally stick around this year and go see them. Start the new year with something a bit magical.”

As the year winds down and the city gears up for celebration, both Juliet and Adam are taking a moment to breathe – grateful for the journeys they’ve had, both as actors and as people.

“We’re lucky to do what we do,” Juliet says. “And even luckier to do it with people who make the ride worth it.”
